MRS ANNA HAWKINS (CHAIR)
Anna qualified as a general nurse in 1995 and gained a BA (Hons) in 1998. Anna has worked at King George Hospital since 1997 and has been a clinical nurse specialist in endocrinology at BHRUT for over 25 years. Anna has also worked as a part time practice manager for a medical clinic from 2008-2019. Anna is currently the clinical lead nurse for the diabetes and endocrine specialist nurses at BHRUT and gained her MSc in Endocrine Practice in 2023. Anna has served 4 years as a Parent Governor for Southwood Primary in Dagenham until 2012 and 7 years as a Parent Governor at Frances Bardsley Academy from 2014 – 2021. Anna is the mother of three children and both she and her husband have been registered foster carers for Havering. Anna has been involved in The Bridge since its inception and became the Chair of governors in 2018 when it was granted Independent School status.
THE REVEREND FATHER RODERICK S P HINGLEY
Father Hingley has been a priest in The Church of England for 46 years. A graduate of St Chad’s College in the University of Durham he completed his Theological Training at St Stephen’s House, Oxford. Having moved around the country experiencing industrial, rural and urban ministry, Father Hingley has been the Vicar of St Alban, Protomartyr, Romford for 31 years. He is the longest serving Incumbent in the Deanery of Havering. Father Hingley has been a Governor at Frances Bardsley since 1996 and Chairman of Governors from 2008-2018. In 2013 the Frances Bardsley Academy for Girls joined The Chelmsford Diocesan Board of Education Affiliated Schools Scheme. He has been a Governor of Squirrels Heath Junior School since 2004 and is currently Vice Chair of Governors. Until its closure in 2009 Father Hingley was a Governor of The Manor Primary School for 13 years, 10 of which he was Chairman of Governors. In 2018 Father Hingley was appointed a Governor of The Bridge (Alternative Provision) Romford. Engaged in the life of the local community and beyond, Father Hingley has served as Chaplain to and an Executive Committee member of The Havering Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 1996. He has served as Chaplain to The Mayor of Havering 2012-13 and 2016 – 17. St Alban’s Romford is a leading major Commissioner of Outstanding Contemporary Ecclesiastical Art holding twenty-five Design Awards.
MRS LISA HARVEY (VICE CHAIR)
Lisa was brought up in Kent and was educated in both the Comprehensive and Grammar school system. Her first degree is in Psychology gained from UCL, she studied for her PGCE at Leicester University and holds further qualifications in Special Educational Needs and the Education of Children with Hearing Impairment. She began her career as a Primary Teacher in the London Borough of Redbridge before going on to be a Specialist Teacher for Learning Difficulties for the Redbridge Advisory Service and, later, as a Teacher of the Deaf. Lisa was part of the Paediatric Cochlear Implant Team for Great Ormond Street Hospital, a role which took her all over the country training schools, families and other hospital teams in the rehabilitation of babies and children with cochlear implants. She then returned to advisory work in the London Borough of Havering when family life dictated a more predictable working life! She is the proud mother of three step sons and one daughter. Lisa has now worked in the area of Special Educational Needs and Disability for over thirty years; she is passionate about inclusion for all children and young people. Her current role is as Assessment and Placement Manager in the Children and Young Adults with Disabilities Service for Havering, previously managing the 5 to 19 Support Team in Havering. Prior to this Lisa worked in the Learning Support Service for Havering as Deputy Head. Lisa’s current goal is to continue to focus on the development of EHCPs and the processes surrounding them to ensure transparency and timeliness for participating families and professionals.
MR MATTHEW DINEEN
Matthew studied at St Mary’s University, Twickenham before starting his Teaching career in Havering in 2004. Matthew was quickly promoted to Deputy Head Teacher in 2008. Matthew then embarked upon his first Head Ship in 2013 in Havering before joining The Federation of Towers Schools in 2018 as Executive Head Teacher. Matthew is forward thinking, proactive and has experience in strategic leadership, building hardworking, loyal and confident teams with high expectations and aspirations. In addition he has experience in schools finance, reviewing structures, organisational change, driving and implementing change at both a fast and steady pace. Matthew is passionate about ensuring that all children achieve the best they possibly can and have opportunities to succeed. Matthew is active in several local clusters and represents colleagues at ESP and PIN. As an experienced leader Matthew supports many new heads informally and mentors Deputy Head Teacher.
MRS SARAH MCTAVISH
Sarah is a parent of a student at The Bridge. She has taken an active role with supporting and fundraising for Squirrels Heath Infant School. Sarah has also supported a local dance school and was a chaperone for 10 years. Sarah is an Insurance industry veteran and has spent more than 20 years working on complex global claims. Using her business prowess she has been busy in a consultancy basis helping her husband set up a new start-up company. Outside her busy work schedule, Sarah loves experiencing new countries, skiing and most of all walking the family dog, Marley.
