Section 175 of the Education Act 2002 gives maintained schools a statutory duty to promote and safeguard the welfare of children, and have due regard to guidance issued by the Secretary of State.

The governors and staff at The Bridge fully recognise the contribution it makes to safeguarding children. We recognise that all staff, including volunteers, visitors and parents, have a full and active part to play in protecting our pupils from harm.
